In the open countryside, electricity cables and the gas pipelines are marked by marking posts.

All marking posts have a sign stating the name of the company and the name of the section. You will also find a telephone number where a 24-hour surveillance service can be contacted.

• Cables are marked with red marking posts
• Gas pipelines are marked with yellow marking posts with orange tops.

Normally, the marking posts are situated within 2 metres from the cable or gas pipeline, but in some instances the distance may be longer. It is therefore important that you ask us for precise information on the cables and gas pipelines if you are planning to work in the vicinity.
