The transmission capacity via the Danish-German border is administered in co-operation with CASC.EU (Capacity Allocating Service Company).
Authorized market players can reserve capacity for trade over the border at auctions offered in cooperation with CASC.EU. The capacity available is offered at two auctions; an annual auction and a monthly auction. At both auctions the capacity offered is cross-border reservations, and the capacity offered is south bound as well as north bound.
Annual auction
Part of the total transmission capacity is offered at an annual auction expected to take place in the beginning of December each year. The reservation applies to all of the succeeding year. Because of the long term horizon only part of the capacity available will be offered at an annual basis.
Monthly auction
On monthly basis also part of the available capacity will be offered at an auction. These auctions will take place not later than the 15 each month for the following month.

Project on Financial Transmission Rights
In 2012 Energinet.dk and the two German TSOs "TenneT GmbH" and "50 Hertz Transmission" together with the national energy regulators started a project on financial transmission right (FTR). The project concerns the interconnectors between Denmark West-Germany and Denmark East-Germany (Kontek). The objective is to implement financial transmission rights on both interconnectors.
