Workshop on Market Design and Operation with Variable Renewables 

Energinet.dk and UWIG presents a workshop on the prospects for the electricity market. The workshop will be held on 22-23 June 2011, and the key issue is the integration of a large share of energy from variable renewable energy sources (RES) and a future energy system based on uncontrollable sources of energy. Is the electricity market prepared to meet this challenge? This is one of the core issues raised on the workshop where experts from The US and Europe will present results and discuss the future challenges of the electricity market. The event takes place in Denmark at the head office of Energinet.dk.  

Utility Wind Integration Group (UWIG) is an American non-profit organization with approx. 150 members, working to promote the integration of wind power-generation and the development of wind technology. The organization has the purpose of among others to provide guidance and advice to the industry on wind power projects and to encourage the industry to get involved in national as well as international initiatives.
