The first prototype of the cell controller has successfully been tested under lab conditions.
When the cell controller is to be tested live in the power system, the first limited test will be performed in autumn 2008. The final test is expected to be fully completed in 2011, at which point a large part of the power system will be controlled by the cell controller. Afterwards, it will be up to the distribution and transmission companies to implement the technology in their grids and thus improve security of supply and voltage quality – by actively utilising local resources in the generation of power.
