The invitation of tenders is also called the ForskEL-programme. The annual financial frame is DKK 130 million.

The focus areas are adjusted each year and appear from the annual call for tenders. Energinet.dk manages the ForskEL-programme, but does not take part in the R&D activities. The ForskEL-programme is co-ordinated with the other Danish energy research programmes.
