Here you can read more about what potential gas suppliers have to do in order to be registered in the Register of Players. In case of doubt, reference is made to 'Rules for Gas Transport'.
Before registration in the Register of Players – about three months before gas supply is to commence:
A potential gas supplier must have a GLN (Global Location Number). This num-ber can be obtained by contacting GS1 Denmark on tel. no. +45 3927 8527. Read more at www.gs1.dk
Please note that Energinet.dk uses this number as an identification number in IT systems. You therefore need a number specifically for the role as gas supplier.
The GLN must be entered into the registration form together with other information, eg company name, address and contact details.
Admission into the Register of Players
Around two months before the gas supply is to commence - step by step:
- Request for registration
Please fill in the form to the right under links with base data: company name, GLN, address and contact details.
- Framework agreement with Energinet.dk
Energinet.dk sends a framework agreement to be signed and returned by the gas supplier. The framework agreement for gas suppliers is included as Appendix 3 to 'Rules for Gas Transport'. Consumer portfolios and player relations
Energinet.dk awards and subsequently sends consumer portfolios to the gas supplier. The consumer portfolios will be used for player relations. This is done by sending an email with a status sheet (excel file under Related documents) appended.
- The shipper must be informed about the portfolios.
One month and 13 work days before:
- Agreement with distribution company
An agreement must be made with one or several other distribution companies. The gas supplier must make an agreement with the distribution company functioning as TSO in the area to which the gas supplier wants to supply the gas. If the gas is to be supplied to several different distribution areas, the gas supplier must conclude gas supply agreements with the various distribution companies. The rules and terms and conditions governing gas suppliers are outlined in 'Rules for Gas Transport'. Please contact each distribution company for addi-tional information: DONG Gas Distribution, HMN Naturgas, Aalborg Kommune Gasforsyningen and/or Naturgas Fyn Distribution.
- Establishment of player relations
Information must be submitted about the shipper with whom you (as a gas sup-plier) have entered into a transport agreement for the transport of gas in the transmission system and about the distribution area to which the gas is to be supplied.
- Approved agreements
The distribution companies will inform Energinet.dk of approved agreements for the Register of Players.
- Change of supplier
Not later than 13 working days before the gas supply is set to commence, the distribution companies will inform Energinet.dk that a change of supplier has taken place, thus activating a certain consumer portfolio.
- Gas supply commences
- EDI communication
When the gas supplier has been active in the Danish gas market for a period of 18 months at the latest, change of supplier must be effected electronically by means of EDI communication. Systems communication via EDI is the standard form of communication between gas supplier and distribution companies in Denmark. Before electronic EDI communication can commence, the gas supplier's IT system must be approved by Energinet.dk via Energinet.dk's test portal www.ediport.dk. Read more about EDI communication on www.gasmarked.dk.
