If you want to be a shipper
If you are a shipper, your name, address and contact details must be registered in the Register of Players. Here you can read more about what a future shipper must do in order to be registered in the Register of Players for the Danish gas market.

In case of doubt, reference is made to 'Rules for Gas Transport'

As a shipper, you can choose either to supply gas suppliers in Denmark (exit zone), transport biogas and/or trade via various trading facilities (GTF, Link4Hubs or at Nordpool Gas). Depending on what you want, there are different procedures to consider which are described under these links:

Biogas in the Danish market
Gas Transfer Facility (GTF)
Nord Pool Gas

Below the procedure for admitting the shipper into the Register of Players is outlined:

  1. Request for admission
Fill in the form to the right under links with name, GLN (Global Location Number), address and contact details to request a framework agreement with Energinet.dk. A potential shipper must state its GLN in the form. If an enterprise already has a GLN, this may be used. If the enterprise does not have a GLN, it must contact GS1 at www.gs1.dk.
  2. Request for credit approval
Energinet.dk forwards request for credit information:
    - Latest financial statements
    - All subsequent financial releases
    - Size of credit limit required
  3. Confirmed credit approval and framework agreement
Energinet.dk confirms credit approval or requests security. Energinet.dk then sends a framework agreement to be signed. The framework agreement is included as Appendix 2 to Rules for Gas Transport.
  4. Signed framework agreement
The shipper returns the signed framework agreement. Energinet.dk must be in receipt of the signed framework agreement not later than 13 working days before the first day of the month in which the transport is due to commence.
  5. Online Access Agreement
By signing an Online Access Agreement (OAA) the shipper will get access to Energinet.dk Online, which is a self-service portal for booking capacity and making nominations. Shippers can choose between three roles: Booker, Approver and combined Booker/Approver. The shippers are free to choose which role they want to assign to their employees.
  6. Exit zone capacity: consumer portfolios and player relations
If you are a shipper and want to supply gas to the exit zone, you must ask the gas suppliers to provide you with information about the relevant consumer portfolios and submit player relations to the Register of Players. Energinet.dk will inform the shipper that the consumer portfolio has been approved.
  7. Nominations
Energinet.dk must approve shippers' daily nominations to Energinet.dk via an IT test. The IT test must be approved three business days before the first day of the month in which the daily nomination is set to commence.
  8. Capacity agreements
The shipper can then formally act as a shipper and request capacity.
  9. Gas transport commences
  10. Transport in connection with biogas
Biogas is upgraded to natural gas quality after which it is called bio natural gas. It is therefore shippers registered in the Danish Register of Players who handle the transport of bio natural gas in the gas transmission system.
