Balancing service agreement

Energinet.dk's balancing service agreement - BSA - gives the shipper an increased flexibility as regards balancing injection into and withdrawal from our system.

In case the shipper wishes the flexibility to be extended beyond the allocated balanc-ing margin, he can do so by entering into a balancing service contract. By entering into a balancing service contract the shipper will not be charged for variations in the amount of accumulated balancing gas within the agreed band. Energinet.dk sees to it that a balance is maintained in the transmission system.

We have two procedures for acquiring BSA depending on two different situations:

No excess demand - Normal booking of BSA via Energinet.dk Online
All BSA booked and approved are conditional on sufficient BSA being available. We may cancel the BSA up till 10 gas days before the commencement of contract.
Excess demand of balance margin - auction
If the BSA is not available on Energinet.dk Online, the shipper MUST contact us to trigger the BSA auction

No later than 11 gas days prior to the commencement of a balancing service period, We will announce the shortage of balance margin.

All shippers affected by the shortage will be informed by email to the email addresses indicated in their shipper framework agreement.
