Capacity auctions

Energinet.dk has introduced auctions and temporarily removes the option to buy annual and monthly products covering one or more months.

Energinet.dk has implemented new allocation rules at interconnection points (Ellund and Dragor) by introducing capacity auctions. The introduction of auctions aims at securing a maximum availability of bundled capacity products at the interconnection points and thereby enhance trading between national hubs or spot markets.

The model paper describes in detail how the auctions are performed and the mechanisms behind the set-up.
