CTF
Energinet.dk's Capacity Transfer Facility allows shippers to trade capacity and emergency supply on the secondary market for durations of one year to a single day.

Energinet.dk's Capacity Transfer Facility (CTF) permits shippers to trade capacity among each other on the secondary market. If a shipper has excess or shortage of capacity at a particular point in the transmission system, Energinet.dk facilitates such transactions with two business days' notice.

Capacity contracts may be transferred in units of days, weeks, months and years.
CTF

Purchases and sales of capacity may be advertised on Energinet.dk's Bulletin Board.

Energinet.dk's CTF is free of charge.

CTF in practice
The capacity is transferred from one shipper to another when Energinet.dk registers the transferring shipper's pooled capacity as being reduced and the receiving shipper's pooled capacity at the same point as being increased with the requested capacity.

The transferring shipper remains liable for the payment of capacity to Energinet.dk. The receiving shipper is, however, liable for payment of the comodity charge (only in relation to the exit-zone and transit capacity).

Energinet.dk is not involved in the deal itself, herein included pricing and terms and conditions applying to the gas quantities traded.

When two shippers wish to enter into an agreement on transfer of capacity, one of the parties must download the contract formula pertaining to Rules for Capacity Transfer Facility.

Ordering
You can order transfer of capacity in two ways:

1. Online booking procedure
If you wish to use the online booking procedure you need to sign an online access agreement. The agreement is appendix 5 to Rules for Gas Transport. You can download the agreement at the bottom of this page.

Each shipper must register one or several users through Energinet.dk online. Energinet.dk then provides them with separate or combined authorisations relating to the extend of access needed in the online system.

As a shipper you need to make the capacity order using the online booking procedure before 13:00 the day before the first day of the period in which you need the capacity.

2. Manual procedure
Shippers who do not wish to use the online booking procedure can also tranfer capacity manually. This is done by sending a CTF order to Energinet.dk either by email, telefax or regular mail. You can download the order at the bottom of this page.

If you use his procedure the order must be received at Energinet.dk 4 banking days before the capacity agreement starts.

You need to send the capacity order to Energinet.dk:

  • By email to anmodning@energinet.dk, as an attached document.
  • In a letter addressed to Energinet.dk, Marked, Lautruphøj 5-7, DK-2750 Ballerup
  • By telefax: +45 4487 3210. And at the same time phone to inform that you have sent the order.

If Energinet.dk receives the CTF order before 09.00 on a banking day we will try to process it before 17.00 two banking days later. Energinet.dk sends an order confirmation by e-mail if the ordered capacity is available and the rules of Rules for Gas Transport are followed.
