Denmark is among the very best when it comes to liberalisation. Energinet.dk is responsible for ensuring fair and efficient competition of the Danish electricity and gas markets. We solve this task so well that many of the largest European countries look to Denmark to find out how to develop their own market model. We would like for the European market models to be harmonised, and we are happy to lead the way.

We are facing a monumental challenge as we have to integrate a great deal of renewable energy and support it without destroying the market mechanisms. This requires professional insight, cross-organisational cooperation and - not least - courage.
