Wind energy
Intensive research is carried out into the continued development of Danish wind power technology. Most research is done on purely commercial terms and financed by the wind power industry itself.

A minor part of the research is of a more general character and may deal with the development of production forecasts, lightning protection, wear mechanisms, marine environments, and the integration of the rather uneven power production into the electricity grid, for example. Research and development is especially required in the location of wind turbines in offshore wind farms.
