This is partly done through research which consumers contribute to via tariffs on their electricity and natural gas bills. This is a public service obligation (PSO) decided by the Danish Parliament for the benefit of society.
Research is carried out within Energinet.dk and together with Danish and international partners from universities, research institutions and industry. The research is based on the general development of the electricity and natural gas systems. They are developed on the basis of long-term and holistic planning taking into account the environment and sustainability, a high degree of security of supply, well-functioning competition on the electricity and natural gas markets, and the national economy.
