Environmental key figures for electricity
Energinet.dk registers data concerning electricity supplies from all electricity-generating units supplying the public grid.

In addition, Energinet.dk collects specific data on emissions and fuel consumption from Danish electricity and CHP generators. In 2011 data have been collected from all power generators with a capacity of more than 5 MWelectricity and/or more than 20 MWthermal. These statements cover around 92% of total Danish electricity generation. For facilities with a smaller capacity, Energinet.dk estimates the environmental impact based on data on their electricity generation, fuel types and efficiency, etc.

The table below show key figures for power generation in Denmark in 2011. The key figures specify generation based on various fuel types, imports, exports, grid loss and consumption (sale to distribution).

Note: Renewables (RE) include electricity from wind turbines, hydropower and photovoltaics and electricity from thermal production of renewable fuels. Renewable fuels are bio fuels such as wood chips, wood pellets, wood and biomass waste, straw, landfill gas, biogas and the biodegradable fraction of waste. Non-RE fuels comprise fossil fuels such as coal, oil, natural gas, refinery gas and the non-biodegradable fraction of waste.
