Rules and regulations provide a necessary framework for ensuring that the market players and infrastructure owners comply with legislation governing the supply of natural gas and electricity. Rules and regulations have been registered with the authorities, pursuant to legislation.

Regulations for electricity

Energinet.dk has prepared a set of regulations setting out the terms for all commercial players and grid companies in the electricity markets in Eastern and Western Denmark. The market regulations are being harmonised and are therefore updated regularly with a view to creating identical terms for Eastern and Western Denmark. However, different terms will continue to apply for a while yet. Furthermore, the set of regulations comprises the standard agreements and any deviations applicable.

Rules for Gas Transport

The Rules for Gas Transport (RfG) make up the overall set of rules governing the transport of gas in the Danish natural gas system. The rules are updated twice a year by Energinet.dk. The main update takes place in the autumn each year and a minor update takes place each spring.

The RfG primarily determines how relations between the individual players and Energinet.dk should be, and how they should be handled. The rules describe the Danish natural gas system, the conditions which must be met by players in the gas market, the terms for using the transmission grid and exceptions from normal operation.

The rules have been prepared by Energinet.dk in collaboration with the Danish distribution companies and Dong Storage.
