The ForskEL programme

Each year, after approval by the Minister for Climate and Energy, Energinet.dk offers PSO-funds for R&D in environmentally friendly technologies for electricity generation. The invitation of tenders is also called the ForskEL programme. The annual financial frame is DKK 130 million.

The focus areas are adjusted each year and appear from the annual call for tenders. Energinet.dk manages the ForskEL programme, but does not take part in the R&D activities. The ForskEL programme is co-ordinated with the other Danish energy research programmes

Evaluation of the ForskEL programme

 

During the first decade of the ForskEL programme (1998-2008) DKK 1,2 bn. has been offered in funding. In addition to the call 2009, Energinet.dk was asked by the Minister for Climate and Energy to conduct an evaluation of the ForskEL programme and The Alexandra Institute was commissioned to carry out the task. Since 1998 approx. 250 projects have been completed within the ForskEL programme and at the moment there are approx. 140 ongoing projects.

 

The Alexandra Institute has published the report "Evaluation of the ForskEL programme" containing both a historic view and recommendations for the future development of the programme.
